About Me

Starting therapy with a new person can be daunting - learn a little more about me and my practices to see if I’m right for you.

Daniel Hutton Liens, MBACP.

I have been working with clients since 2019, starting at my local college helping staff and students face-to-face. I have experience working with a wide range of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, grief, trauma, abuse and more. As the pandemic restricted face-to-face work, I gained certification from the BACP and Open University to work safely online.

I have since worked exclusively online, alongside charities and agencies including:

  • Stepping Stones, working with the ambulance and fire services

  • JHD Counselling/Stop Breathe Think, working with adolescents and young people

  • BetterHelp, working with private clients who find me through the BetterHelp website and app

  • Private Practice, where I work with a diverse range of clients and presenting issues

My therapeutic approach can best be described as integrating person-centred and psychodynamic ideas; you can read more about that here.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and continue to uphold the standards required to maintain membership.
